Meditation & Prayer
Meditation is ‘thoughtless awareness’. It is not act of doing – it is a state of awareness. We are either in that state or we are not. A person can be in meditation while doing his daily jobs; and a person can not be in meditation at all, while sitting in a lotus position on the hilltop. Sounds, voices, colors, involuntary movements, postures have nothing to do with meditation. People consider that meditation is to sit quiet or to ponder or concentrate hard but actually true meditation is much more than this; it is a state of profound deep peace that occurs when mind is calm and silent yet completely alert.
Meditation is effortless and leads to a state in which the excessive stress producing activity of the mind is neutralized without reducing alertness and effectiveness. True Meditation enables one to focus on the present moment rather than dwell on the unchangeable past or the undetermined future. Meditation can also not be compared with relaxation techniques.
The theoretical explanation for the effects of meditation and relaxation techniques is that the release of catecholamines and other stress hormones are reduced and parasympathetic activity is increased.
There are various ways and methods of achieving this state of thoughtless awareness. And one method should not be compared to another, however beginners start with observing their breath and then we have higher Theta States (refer to mind frequencies in Know Theta Healing section of this site).
Meditation is one sure shot way of reducing your medical cost and annual trips to doctors and physicians for different ailments, this is researched and proven fact. Definitely the quality of life improves, concepts like psychoneuroimmunology or mind-body medicines hold true and hence meditation is the key, stress reduction and improving mental health are of utmost importance to human beings to be free and grow in real sense.
Concept of Prayer and the science behind it:
There is only one healing principle operating through everything – the cat, the dog, the tree, the grass, the wind, the earth- for everything that is alive. This life principle operates across universe as instinct and The Law of Growth. Because humans are consciously aware of this Life principle we can direct it to bless ourselves in countless ways. There might be different approaches and methods of healing but there is only one process and that is faith – according to your faith is done unto you. All religions in world represent forms of beliefs, and these beliefs are explained in many ways. The law of life is belief. what you believe about yourself, life, and the universe – it is done unto you as you believe. Believe is a thought in your mind that causes the power of your subconscious to be distributed into all phases of your life according to your thinking habits. Belief is not a ritual, ceremony, form, institution, or formula. It is talking about belief itself. The belief of your mind is simply the thought of your mind. Hence all the events and circumstances of your life are but the reflections and reactions to your own thoughts.
Prayer Therapy is the combined function of the conscious and the subconscious mind scientifically directed. It is synchronized, harmonious and intelligent function of the conscious and the subconscious levels of mind specifically directed for definite purpose. In scientific prayer or prayer therapy you should know what you are doing and why you are doing it.
In prayer therapy you consciously choose a certain idea, mental picture, or plan that you desire to experience. You realize your capacity to convey this idea or mental image to your subconscious by feeling the reality of state assumed. As you remain faithful in your mental attitude, your prayer will be answered. Prayer therapy is a definite mental action for a definite specific purpose.
For example if you decide to heal a certain difficulty by prayer therapy, you are aware that your problem/sickness must be caused by negative thoughts charged with fear and lodged in your subconscious mind. You realize that if you can succeed in cleansing your mind of these thoughts, you will get a healing. You therefore turned to healing power within your subconcious mind. You remind your self of this infinite power and intelligence and its capacity to heal all conditions. As you dwell on these truths your fear will begin to dissolve. The recollection of these truths; battles and ultimately overcomes the erroneous beliefs .
You give thanks for the healing that you know will come . Then you keep your mind off the difficulty and you feel guided, after an interval, to pray again . While you are praying, you refuse to give any power to negative conditions or to admit for a second that the healing will not come . This attitude of mind brings about the harmonious union of the conscious and subconscious mind , which releases the healing power for sickness or any other situation.
We can dwell upon the subject talking about faith healings, distant healings, absent healings but it all boils down to one simple fact – All of it is ‘Releasing the kinetic action of the subconscious mind’
My sincere suggestion to my friends reading this section – stop talking of your ailments, stop complaining about life, weather, government, relationships, fears, changing trends, children etc etc…become a mental surgeon and cut off your troubles like dead branches are pruned from trees.
Kindly adopt the scientific method of prayer, which means adopting knowledge of working of your conscious and subconscious mind. Pray for yourselves, loved ones, nation, people; your thoughts of health, vitality and perfection operating through the ONE UNIVERSAL SUBJECTIVE MIND will be felt and manifested 🙂 🙂 🙂
